More Merriam's Turkey Photos
Rick Beach from Ohio took this nice Merriam's Gobbler at 29 yards. Guide Pat Feldt called this 21-pound bird across a 500 yard canyon.
Craig Davisson with a 3+ year-old New Mexico Tom that had a 9½" beard and 1-1/16" spurs. Two birds came in side-by-side to 26 yards.
This 3+ year-old Merriam's Longbeard weighs 23½ pounds, 9" beard with 15/16" worn down spurs. It was Michael's first bird and called into 30 yards, along with a group of 6 other longbeard Toms.
Charles Fowler from Ohio with a "pure white" New Mexico Merriam's Gobbler. Outfitter Pat Feldt called in this Tom to 7 yards before Charles released an arrow. No blinds were used, just normal calling against a pine tree!
PJ Lampros with a big New Mexico Tom Merriams turkey. Without hearing a response from any gobbler, we decided to setup against a couple pines and just "cold call." Within a few minutes, this gobbler came walking into the set silently and strutted across a downed log before letting out a courtesy gobble. This beautiful bird has 1-2/16" spurs and a 10" beard, 22.0lbs.
