Turkey Pot Calls - Crystal Slate Playing Surface Cherry Crystal and Wenge Crystal Turkey Friction Calls
Top view of Cherry wood (left) or Wenge wood (right) Crystal Slate Turkey Friction Calls with strikers (strikers may vary). Cherry is an American hardwood with a hint of beautiful pinkish grains. It is one of the most desirable woods for making calls. Wenge is a very dense African hardwood with a rich, chocolate brown color. Both woods produce excellent sounds and the pots have great acoustics.

Each call is neatly packaged with detailed instructions.
The turkey calls above were crafted by Pro Turkey Guide Pat Feldt. They consist of either a Cherry wood pot or a Wenge wood pot. Both have a crystal playing surface on top of a glass soundboard. Crystal produces a very high quality and crisp sound. The soundboard (section under the crystal) displays the Arizona Guided Hunts promotional logo. Both calls are very versatile. Pat combined these materials to produce a call that would be loud enough for enticing distant gobblers across the wide canyons often encountered in Merriam's turkey country. Although it has the potential to be very loud, it will also definitely play soft notes when the need arises. It breaks-over well and can produce great 2-note hen yelps (with rasp on the end note), excellent purrs and subtle clucks. Unlike other crystal calls on the market, this is a "blasted" crystal playing surface, which means it can play out-of-the-box. Only maintenance with a scour pad (to keep surface rough) may be needed. The pot comes with a custom wooden striker, but will also work with most strikers in your arsenal. Crystal Slate Friction Calls are known to be very expensive.
